Well designed nailer
Boy I like this nailer. I have owned it for almost 2 years and have no complaints. I've never had a misfire. It drives 2 inch nails with ease. Best of all it's light. I used it for window and door molding and cabinet work. This gun is easy to load, and easy to change the depth of the shot.

Some nice features are:

1. As the nails run low, an indicator appears to show that you have 6 nails left. Then it moves to show a countdown to show when you are empty. It's nice not to have to open the magazine to see how many nails you have. And of course the indicator that appears is yellow.

2. You can direct the exhaust airflow anywhere you want.

3. If the nail jams, which has only happend when I hit something below, the head easily opens so you can extract the bent nail.

I also have the 15 ga. nailer and would highly recommend both of these. I've also recommended this nailer to 2 friends and they have also had excellent results...

A very good nail guy... but...
I bought a DeWalt nail gun near the end of last year. Since then I've driven several boxes of nails with it, mostly without any hitches. I've used it nearly every day for building cabinets and installing mouldings. This is my third brad nailer. My first one was a Senco SLP20, a fabulous gun. I never had any problems with the Senco other than the safty being on the front side of the driver... that made it difficult to shoot nails at a bit of an angle if needed. My only other complaint about the Senco was its limited capacity in length of nails, 1 5/8". After the Senco was stolen out of the back of my truck I bought a Hatachi brad nailer... the DeWalt was not yet on the market. Overall, the Hatachi was a nice quality gun and had the 2" nail depth capacity I really needed for my work. However, it would often double fire on me because the safty was so sensitive. This problem occurred so much I finally gave it to my son (a weekend warrior) after the DeWalt came on the market. I...
Tough as Nails
I just bought this nailer at Home Depot several months ago for our trim crew. We specifically use 18G bradders for shoe and other small moldings. This unit is the best we've ever come in contact with. The guys tried the Porter Cab tools and they don't seem to have the power to set nails and they don't feel nearly as durable as the Dewalt. The depth setting mechanism on this tool is tops as well

Porter-Cable US58 1/4-Inch to 5/8-Inch 22-Gauge C-Crown Upholstery Stapler
The Porter-Cable US58 1/4-Inch to 5/8-Inch, 22-Gauge C-Crown Upholstery Stapler is an easy to use pneumatic stapler with plenty of useful features. It uses standard Senco C Type 22-gauge, 3/8-inch crown staples to get the job done right, and it includes a 1-inch nose extension for those tough to reach areas. The high-capacity bottom-load magazine handles 185 staples, and the driver guide moves back to easily clear jams from the magazine. The US58 stapler requires 70-120 PSI air pressure, so it will work with most air compressors.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

Great stapler, but a word of caution
Light and effective. It does its job as well as I could have hoped. Not a single jam that was not obviously my fault. I have spent several times the cost of this tool looking for a stapler that would do what this one does as well as it does. Why the enthusiasm? Well, most staplers not meant for construction site abuse are not very good. This one is.

A word of caution. This is not, nor was it ever intended to be, a construction stapler. The staples it is designed to use are not big enough nor thick enough to be of much use for construction site purposes. This is a professional grade upholstery stapler.

Where to get staples
This gun is very comparable to other industrial upholstery staplers in features, design and quality, but it is considerably less expensive.

Since this is an upholstery stapler you can get staples from any upholstery supply shop. A hardware store will not carry them. When you go to your local upholstery supply shop ask for staples compatible with Empire 7, BeA 71, Bostitch BA71, JK 670, Rainco 7, or Senco C series staplers. Amazon's price for replacement staples is good considering they are galvanized, but you can get liquor finish staples cheaper at your local store. Many will carry stainless steel staples as well.

This stapler does not come with a case because it is an industrial tool. Upholstery shops do not bother putting their tools in boxes at the end of the day. Also upholstery shops don't make a lot of saw dust, at least not in the fabric part of the shop. For those using this stapler in a general purpose shop, a case would be nice but, as mentioned,...
OUCH!...
I bought this stapler to re-cover the vinyl pillions and seats on my boat. And, approximately 8,000 staples later, I can say with certainty that it is definitely the ideal tool for any type of upholstery work. It's light, easy to hold, has an extended nose to get into tight spaces, and is powerful enough to completely sink the staple through several layers of fabric, even into hardwood. It's also extremely easy to re-load, and I've never experienced any type of jam or mis-fire. Construction is typical Porter-Cable (my personal favorite brand), meaning it appears to be built super tough--I expect it to last a lifetime.
So then, why only 4 stars? Unlike any other pneumatic 'nail gun' I've seen, this stapler does not have a safety tipped nose. Usually, the nose has to be pressed against something in order for the trigger to be functional. But, with this one, there is no safety tip--you just pull the trigger and it starts firing. Add to that the fact that the trigger is very...

Easily one of my favorite power tools
I purchased this particular item because of its better range of brad sizes it can handle, and the Porter Cable name, good reviews, etc.

I have been using this nailer quite often, and am now left with several boxes of finish nails I will likely never use again. No more getting the nailsets out to bury a finish nail down on a piece of trim, etc.

The options for using this are endless. Just last night, I needed to make a couple wood boxes to hold scrap in my workshop area, and had some scrap 3/8" plywood, perfect for the boxes. Using this nailer, I could quickly apply a little glue, between corners of the box, and shoot a couple brads in and done. Can't do that with finish nails on plywood without splitting out alot.

Great tool, highly recommended, easy to handle.

Best 18 ga. I know off
I've used this gun for the last 20yrs. Stick to what you know
And what works. A little new style than before but the same
Basic gun. No oil needed in this one but I never oiled the last
Design.
Porter-Cable = Good, Reliable Tools
I own many Porter-Cable tools. They have never failed or disappointed me.

I have an older version of this Porter-Cable nailer and it's a great nailer even after shooting well over 5,000 nails. Of all the tools in my shop, it's one of my favorites. Indispensible for woodworking and trim.
My first brad nailer was a no-name cheapo that shot maybe 100 nails before it was trash.

I purchased this one as a gift.

A strong 4 stars!
Though this is the first air nailer I have owned, I have used a few in my life (also, I do have a 16 gauge Porter Cable "Bammer" finish nailer). After reading up on what features to look for in an air nailer, I chose this model.

It uses very little air, which is good because I only have a small compressor. It also has a directional exhaust to keep the air blasts out of your face and a padded tip to avoid marring the workpiece. The grips are very comfortable. I found that setting the nail depth was easy and accurate, as was loading the nails into the magazine. The heft and feel of this nailer is that of a good quality tool. Though I probably don't need to use 2" brads on most of my projects, it is good to have that option if and when I need it.

Basically, the only complaint I had was that the little bottle of oil that was included with this kit had a cracked cap, which allowed some oil to leak out in the case during shipment. Otherwise, this is a very solid...

Excellent for the price
I needed a brad nailer for nailing some trim and toe kick in a kitchen. I wanted a Paslode for I have had previous experience with their products. Being a homeowner on a budget, I wanted a nailer for under $120. At the local hardware store, the salesman confirmed my thoughts about Paslode being an excellent choice. Paslodes cheapest brad nailer was over $150. Way too much money. I asked the friendly sales person what he would recomend. Supprisingly he recomended the Campbell Hausfeld 2" brad nailer. He stated they have sold tons of them, and they hardley ever come back. So I bought it. WOW. I was impressed, nice balance in hand, adjustable air port, depth control. The best feature is how little air it uses. My 4gal compressor hardly ran at all. It will drive 2" brads into oak with out a hitch. At $50 the only thing I can complain about is the tool oil it came with leaked in the case. So the nailer was coated in tool oil. Oh well. For home use I strongly recomend!!
Nice features at a nice price!
I received this nailer as a gift, part of an air compressor combo pack ($79 Menards sale). I have previously used other, more expensive nailers and after 2 full days of heavy use, this nailer has impressed me. Although Campbell Hausfeld has been around for a very long time, I was afraid their quality has slipped as their products seem to be available at every discount and overstock retailer. To my surprise, this tool seems well made, and includes a nice set of features. I particularly like the ability to use 2-inch brads, a feature typically found only in nailers at twice the price. I may never need to buy a finish nailer. I also like the adjustable air port and contoured rubber grip. If you're looking for a decent brad nailer with enough money left over to buy the hoses and accessories you need (or another tool for that matter), give this a try.

    Excellent Tool
This is one of the best tools I have ever had. Operates flawlessly every time. I use Bostich nails/brads because they are easier to find (all sizes up to 2") and the nailer works perfectly. The "height" adjustment is easy. The "jam release" mechanism is great - but the tool has never jammed. Excellent Product! James Willard

This nailer gets into tighter spots than other models...
The one thing that swayed me to this model was definitely a key advantage. With this nailer, the safety slide peg is mounted behind the nail channel, which means you can get nails into tighter spots with this model than you can with others. The Bostich and others have the slide out in front of the nail channel which means the brad comes out about a quarter inch back from the forward-most part of the tool tip. With this Hitachi the brad comes out at the very front, which is very nice when putting nails in tight corners.

This tool is so handy and does such a nice job, I wonder what would ever make me buy a finish nailer. I'm pretty sure this brad nailer would do those jobs for me too.

Three minor disadvantages drop this to a 4-star rating (reallly 4.5), but it's not because I think there's a better one out there, it's just that there's room for improvement.

    1. It's not oil-free. Not a big deal but it would be nicer to not have to bother with...
    " Outstanding Brad Nailer !! "
