Goodyear Yellow Hose 250 PSI - 3/8 x 50 Feet

This hose is made of high-quality industrial grade reinforced rubber, instead of vinyl. It remains soft and flexible and is easy to get it to lay flat on the floor so you don't trip on it. See Customer Images for an example of its flexibility; it's also like that in the winter time. It's also easy to feed it onto a hose reel, or to coil it up by hand.

Vinyl hoses, or even rubber hoses coated with vinyl are stiffer than this one and are more difficult to lay flat; polyurethane hoses are stiffer still.

I tried a "Task Force" brand air hose from Lowes (made in China) that was "reinforced rubber", but it split open in under a year. The entire surface was full of cracks - the point is, all rubber hoses are not created equal.

Item not as pictured, (update)
The 25' hose states that the item has "Bend Restrictors Prevent Kinks near end Fittings." The hose that I received did not, in fact the hose looked to be in used condition and did not have any sort of packaging. The hose may be a previous return, be aware that the pictures may not match the hose you receive.

**update**
The above review was not due to the manufacturer, but to best deal tools sending me the wrong hose.(46501) I returned the item, purchased the 300psi model (46544) and reordered the 250 psi model 46504 (fulfilled by amazon.)

The 46501 model is very similar to the 46504, but does not include the bend restrictor. The 300psi model is thicker than the 250psi model, but is also a little stiffer. I like the 46504 model because it is easier to use on a daily basis. I'll be keeping both because of their quality and the increased flexibility of having 50ft total.

Great Upgrade Over 3/8" And Other Air Hoses
I had purchased a new Chicago Pneumatic 3/4" impact and needed better CFM air flow than is provided by the 1/4" NPT 3/8" hoses that are most common. My only 1/2" air hose was 25' Goodyear "Red" hose and connected a small sandblaster, so I needed a second one for proper performance from my new 3/4" impact tool - and longer for my large home garage use. Of course, I also purchased new couplers and fittings to keep that flow high on my new 1/2" air hose. I found the 3/8" x 1/2" NPT Dixon Air Chief Industrial I needed were in stock at Amazon, and purchased all of them I needed directly from Amazon to complement the new 1/2" air hose (the 1/2" hose purchased through Amazon from Buzzard Gulch Inc). I also purchased a new 50' 3/8" x 1/4" NPT air hose direct from Amazon at a great low price - too low to pass by. Both hoses arrived on the same day and in very quick order using standard shipping.

GREAT Air Hose
I bought two of these hoses when I switched my shop over to 1/2 inch ID air lines to run my sand blast cabinet. One was a 50 footer to use with air tools and the other was a 25 footer to use with the sandblast cabinet. My shop is 50x35 and I figured I could combine both hoses for a combined length of 75 feet if that became necessary.

Then I decided to run a outside air line at each end of my shop so I could run my 3/4 inch impact or my pressure pot for my sandblaster to blast items too large for the cabinet,so I bought another 50 footer so I could bring the impact or the pressure pot close to the work.

These hoses are all very high quality items I would recommend to anyone. The only reservation is that because of their outside diameter and 300 psi pressure rating they are very thick and stiff. This is really good if you have had trouble with kinked 3/8th hardware store hoses cutting off your air because that problem doesn't exist with these hoses. This is not so...
Leaky hose ends
I purchased four of these hoses and have used three of them thus far. The hose is excellent quality but the threaded couplers at the ends are two-piece brass and they all leak between the two brass parts. The product description says the ends are "solid brass" but in fact these couplers are two pieces that evidently weren't crimped together tightly enough during manufacture.

I would estimate close to a CFM average leakage per hose so unless you have a large air tank your compressor will be cycling frequently. I will be replacing my hose ends with the Senco style push on ends, which in my experience have never leaked.

Very nice hose
Not much to add from other reviews other than this hose is extremely flexible and lays out nicely. Seems light and doesn't weigh down your tools. Nigel from an earlier review was wrong about the "plastic" fittings. As the packaging suggests the fittings are anodized aircraft grade aluminum. With the black color they do look plastic but are not and seem light and plenty strong.

Good, almost great, air hose
After fighting with a cheap black Goodyear 50' hose, I bought this air hose. It feels soft, and is really flexible. It rolls up nicely (I don't have a hose reel) and doesn't fight much during rolling up or unrolling. It's not perfect -- when unrolled I still have to "work" it a bit to ensure it unrolls flat -- but it is significantly easier than other hoses. I'll probably buy more hoses from them as the need arises.

This hose is light. A few times I looked down to make sure the hose was actually attached. It doesn't seem to snag on much a anything and stays straight right out of the box.

Great Product
Great product, durable, no leaks, has brass threads for a tight seal for couplings or stems. 10 year warranty a big plus. Not actually made by Goodyear, it's made by a second party under a licensing agreement. The price at Amazon was way lower than Auto Parts store pricing. I'm happy with this purchase.

Very nice air hose
Good connectors,sturdy construction,doesn't whip or kink easily. Using 2 in my shop and guys like them. Wish I could get longer ones. Have 3 total and some 25' and shorer lengths as well. I heard from rep that longer lengths are available and found the 100'. I will use those for permanent installs but the weight is too much on portable tool connections if you have too much hose.
I hang the hose from the roof 45 feet up too and think that's all the weight I want overhead. Very sturdy stuff, I ran over it with 1/2 ton pickup w. no problem...But...don't run over it with your forklift, not indestructible. Do make sure to be careful when adding or removing connectors as brass is soft by design. I just put one steel connector on both ends w. Teflon tape and leave it there. I also support the ends with nylon cord holding a little loop of slack where it connects to the air outlet. Not totally necessary but we pull on that end constantly while using tools so why put stress on the...
Good Product Sturdy Design
I was looking for a rubber air hose when my poly one burst on me during a very cold spell. I was looking for a hose that would be flexible during the cold months (in Michigan that is about half of them). I went to a home store, but they didn't have any in stock that day, so I went to the web. The price was the same for a much better product that was made in the USA. I chose this one over the other one on Amazon, because many people claimed the cheaper price was a counter fit. It may have been the same, but I don't believe in companies (or certain countries) putting a good name on a cheap rip off.

I checked it out the day I got it and it was very flexible in the cold weather and seemed very sturdy.
