Decent Pressure Switch For Smaller 2-Stage Air Compressors
Square D is not the name it used to be with their pressure switches, but this one still fills the bill for lighter duty equipment.

Yes, the control is lighter throughout than those of earlier times. This one actually has a non-adjustable pressure differential of 35 PSI, while its cutoff can be adjusted as low as 100 PSi or as high as 200 PSI. The factory cutoff setting is 175 PSI, so the cut-in is actually 140 at this setting.

The amperage is listed by horsepower as 1.5Hp@115 volts and 2Hp@230 in single phase power by Schneider Electric. Why they chose this oddball rating method is inane, but the actual amperage rating is going to be roughly 8-10 running amps - the figure you will find and need to use from your electric motor plate. Excessive electrical draw under load? Don't go there, but momentary starter amps shouldn't cause concern - unless the motor or compressor is in poor condition. This switch is not heavy duty, so I recommend dropping the factory...

Worked good
As I live in a rural area bugs got in the OEM Switch and locked it on. As such my compressor was running an awfully long time. I manually shut it off before any damage was done.

This pressure switch appears to be pretty well sealed so hopefully it wont get buggy and crap out.

Switch itself works fine. No complaints.

Well bulit switch. The only complaint I have is the cover could have been a little larger to accomidate the wires.

Decent product worth the price.
I needed to replace the Siemens switch on my Ingersoll compressor, and chose to save a few bucks. So far, I feel that this switch is worth the money, and right now it works fine. The on/off switch feels a bit flimsy, and in general the assembly seems to lack the durability that I have seen in Square D and Siemens switches. Time will tell. I'm sure that it is an adequate budget alternative for most people. If it fails, I'll spend the extra money next time, but I'm the type of guy that usually buys the high-end brands.

Only problem I have withthis switch is that it has no port for the pop off valve!!!....I had to add a "T" between the tank and switch.....Operation is dead on!!!

Hooked it up to my compressor and it works fine.
What can I say? It's a switch that turns your compressor on when the air pressure is low and off when the pressure is high.

My old switch would get stuck on and try to blow up the shop, or would vibrate itself off and I wouldn't get any air. I should have bought this one years sooner than I did.

Just what I wanted
Last switch from this manufacturer lasted over 35 years before it broke down because of old age. I was happy to get an exact replacement at a very reasonable price. Hoping this one will last another 35+ years.
